This is just a play on words – but a useful one.

When we look at all immune mechanism activity (eg, complement, phagocytes, T-cells antibodies etc.) we can expect each element to have a destructive and a constructive strategy that it can roll out in appropriate sequence. This very much reflects the wave of debris clearance then reconstruction by the inflammatory process.

We should be exploring all immune activities with this in mind.
