Philosophical issues related to this concept
I am sure that many of you have come across professed philosophers who might, unkindly, be called incontinent pontificaters; I certainly believe that I have. It is important not to dismiss, on the basis of such experience, the excitement and incisiveness that real philosophical enquiry can generate. For me, philosophy is more about ignoring the superficial and delving into the depths of cross discipline logic; it seeks out a deeper understanding that is hidden below our veneer of "knowing" and "reacting"; many do not look or search for this – or even acknowledge its existence.
